Meeting with Senior Representatives of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA)

The Minister Counsellor Moatshe held a meeting with Senior Representatives of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) on the 14 October 2020. VDA was represented by Mr Marius Ochel, Head, Cluster International Association Partnerships Africa; Ms Victoria Backhaus, Project Leader of Joint VDA-AAAM and Ms Inesa Kachmarchyk, Project Manager, Cluster International Association Partnerships Africa. The meeting covered a number of areas of crucial and mutual interest for Germany and South Africa that included, improving the investment climate in the auto sector in South Africa and African at large, enhancing of market access, facilitating regional cooperation and value chains within the ecosystem. One of the key milestones to realize the aforementioned is that a dedicated office will be established in South Africa in this regard by the end of the year.
