President Declares April 22 a Public Holiday
President Kgalema Motlanthe on Thursday declared April 22 a public holiday. This is the day on which the country goes to the polls in a general election. "The declaration was made in terms of Section 2A of the Public Holidays Act 1994 (Act No. 36 of 1994)," the presidency said in a statement.
