Memorial Service for Mrs Jeannette Lorna Selby at the Embassy on 13. April 2024

A memorial service for Mrs Jeannette Lorna Selby, a steadfast fighter against apartheid and social injustice, is scheduled to be held at the South African Embassy in Berlin on 13 April 2024 from 11:00 to 13:00 hours.

Jeannette Lorna Selby was born on 23 April 1931 in Albertsville, Johannesburg, and sadly passed away on 26 March 2024 in Berlin.

If you asked Jeannette or Nettie if she would get involved in fighting injustice again, she would say “yes.” For her, this was not a theoretical but a practical, existential question. She lived for the struggle and participated throughout her life in the anti-apartheid movement to destroy the racist regime.

Long live her fighting spirit!
