The proclamation of the election date is issued by our Head of State, H.E. President Ramaphosa, after consultation with the Electoral Commission. In terms of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, the country must have an election within ninety (90) days of the expiry of the legislatures’ terms.

The South African Embassy in Germany is therefore awaiting the announcement of the proposed election date and will, in consultation with the Independent Electoral Commission, announce further information about the practicalities about registration and voting in Germany, once the date has been proclaimed and information in this regard has been received.
