IEC user guide on taking photos of the identity document to upload on the IEC portal when registering

The IEC has provided a user guide on taking photos of the identity document to upload on the IEC portal when registering via https://online.elections.org.za/voterportal/voter/registration/abroad. 

Please see the above guide with tips when taking an ID photo/document.

Alternatively, the following can be tried:

- clear all cache, open a new browser window, use InPrivate/Incognito browser where possible

- when taking a picture use a lower resolution on the camera so that the file is not too big to be uploaded

- if the first picture does not upload, take another picture and try again
  (take a picture of your Identity document - scanned/cropped copies in PDF
  will not upload)

- use a different device/laptop/desktop where possible
