On 29 July 2019, Ambassador Sizani welcomed Prof. van Zyl and Mr Fischer from the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University) as well as Prof. Wolfgang Arens-Fischer and Prof. Gochermann from the Hochschule Osnabrück to exchange the latest ideas and developments on the intended implementation of Dual Study programmes in South Africa also known as Vocational Training programmes. The main characteristic of the dual system is cooperation between mainly small and medium sized companies, on the one hand, and publicly funded vocational schools, on the other. Trainees in the dual system typically spend part of each week at a vocational school and the other part at a company.
