South Africa and Bremen to Deepen Long-Standing Relationship

On 15 September 2017, Ambassador Sizani was welcomed by Bremen's Mayor Carsten Sieling. After the signing of the Golden Book of on of the oldest City States, they discussed the future of the long-standing relations between Bremen and South Africa for which the City Partnership between Durban and Bremen is a very good example. As a country surrounded by three oceans, South Africa has a great interest in cooperation in the fields of ports and logistics, polar and ocean research, as well as in the academic and technological training of young people.

Ambassador Sizani's trip to Bremen also served to plan the upcoming visit by a delegation of Bremen's Trade Chamber and Senat to South Africa in June 2018.

The South African delegation also visited the Trade Chamber (IHK) and the Bremische Bürgerschaft (Landtag), as well as the Airbus Factory, where they were able to get a full picture of the aerospace technology base Bremen and specifically about the processing of the A 400M for which Pretoria contributes several components.
