Today Adv M.A. Cassimjee, Natasha Maharaj and Vusumzi Tshete, Department of Home Affairs, met with Natasha Morris, Director: Inbound, Awesome Work and Travel, which is based in Johannesburg and has been offering programs to empower and upskill young South Africans by going abroad since 2002. At the meeting the newly established South African Cultural Exchange program for the German Youth between 18 and 29 years of age as one of the organisation’s placement programs to have young Germans gain an authentic experience of South Africa for up to 12 months was discussed. In this regard, Awesome Work and Travel cooperates with host companies in the hospitality sector throughout South Africa. Speaking about the ratio of their exchange programme, Ms Natasha Morris stated that for every international youth taking part in their programme three to four young South Africans would be exposed to an international experience in turn.
