South Africa Celebrates Africa Day, 25 May 2020
On Monday, 25 May 2020 we celebrate Africa Day. During Africa Month 2020, as a continent we acknowledge our achievements, as we take stock of the progress made towards realising the ideals of the AU Agenda 2063 on uniting the African continent. During this month we work towards strengthening Socio-Cultural Integration, Economic Integration and Political Integration.
As we commemorate #AfricaDay, we do so with the realisation that COVID-19 represents a threat to all nations on the continent and we must stand united in fighting the virus, and ensuring the safety of all on the continent. With this in mind, #AfricaDay will be celebrated online this year. President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa and Chairperson of the African Union will on Monday be joined by fellow Africans who represent various continental stakeholders in a virtual Africa Day celebration event.
Date: Monday, 25 May 2020
Time: 13:00 CAT
Venue: DStv Channel 404 (SABC)
The event will also be streamed live on all DIRCO social media platforms.
