2010 LOC steps up its marketing efforts

South Africa's 2010 Local Organising Committee (LOC) has stepped up efforts to market the Confederations Cup, 61 days before the tournament kicks off. The LOC together with government's 2010 Soccer World Cup inter-ministerial council took to the streets of Soweto today to encourage locals to buy tickets.

2010 ambassador and former Bafana Bafana captain, Lucas Radebe says the visit to Soweto is a good thing.  "I think it's catching up with us now and that it's time that we get the hype about the game and the most important thing is to let the people know how to apply for the tickets.”

Several months ago FIFA raised concerns about poor marketing in South Africa for the Confederations Cup.
