NOTICE TO SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZENS APPLYING FOR SOUTH AFRICAN PASSPORTS AND IDENTITY DOCUMENTS

Persons applying for South African passports and identity documents must submit their complete applications in person during the consular opening hours (Mon-Fri; 09:00-12:00) at the Embassy in Berlin or Consulate-General in Munich, where fingerprints are taken free of charge, copies of original documents certified and payment of the application fee can be made in cash – no appointment is necessary for this purpose.

Citizen (or civic) services refer to the services provided to South African citizens by the Department of Home Affairs. South African citizens who are currently residing in the Federal Republic of Germany may contact the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Berlin (Please note that South African citizens residing in Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg should contact the or the Consulate-General in Munich) with regard to applications for South African documents.
