Warm welcome to our website

You will recall that in 2010, following the hosting of a successful 2010 FIFA World Cup, the rest of the world witnessed a warm South African hospitality. This changed negative perceptions about our continent and catapulted South Africa and indeed Africa into a preferred tourist and investment destination. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to those of you who graced us with your presence on our shores as well as those who took keen interest to visit our Embassy homepage during the tournament. I trust you concur with me when I say that the experience was really worth it. I know that those of you, who visited our beloved country, would like to go back for more, while those of you who visited our Embassy website surely cannot wait to visit our shores.
This website will provide you with basic information about South Africa, bilateral relations between the Republic of South Africa and the Federal Republic of Germany, tourism and business opportunities, most consular matters including visa application forms and visa requirements as well as activities undertaken by the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Berlin.
As you take your time to go through our website, we can guarantee that you will be influenced by the scenic splendor of the country and irresistible temptation to visit our shores. We also we trust that you will discover the richness that South Africa can offer and the depth and diversity of the relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of South Africa and provide insights into the ever-widening scope of people-to-people interaction between our peoples, and our willingness and readiness to enhance these relations.
I take this opportunity, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of South Africa and our compatriots, to extend to you a unique and a truly special South African welcome, where everything is possible.

With kindest regards

Rev. Makhenkesi Arnold Stofile

Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa
