Visit of the Foundation for German Economy`s Summer Academy II 2010 to the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa

Berlin, 12 August 2010. Around fifty postgraduate students from all over Germany visited the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa on this day. As part of their program, they visited the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Berlin and were greeted by the Deputy Head of Mission, Ms Mbuyane-Mokone. The students are part of the Foundation for German Economy`s (Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft) Summer Academy II 2010.  Their topic for this year was “Development cooperation on the example of South Africa”. The course which runs for over one week provides the students with an the opportunity to learn about South Africa as a key partner of Germany  - its political, cultural and economic relations, projects of development cooperation as well as perspectives of South Africa as a motor of future developments in the SADC region.

After a presentation on South Africa’s foreign policy objectives a lively discussion followed with an extensive range from subjects such as economics, political developments and strategic relations between Germany and South Africa.
