After four weeks of soccer-craziness all over the world, there are only two games left: the match for the third place on Saturday, 10 July 2010 at 20:30 when Germany will play Uruguay, and the final on Sunday, 11 July 2010 at 20.30 when the Netherlands and Spain will do their best to be the team who will hold the golden Cup in their hands.

The Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Berlin would like to invite once again everyone to Haus der Kulturen der Welt, their official public viewing partner during the World Cup, to celebrate the wonderful World Cup in South Africa in a festive atmosphere.

On Sunday 11 July at 18:30, just before kick-off for the final game,  South Africa`s shooting star Simphiwe Dana will perform  on the roof top  of Haus der Kulturen der Welt. Already by age 29, Simphiwe has followed in the footsteps of Miriam Makeba, according to the South African media. Born in Transkei, she was musically schooled in a church and started her career by performing in the small night clubs of Johannesburg. Simphiwe Dana  calls her music a mix of traditional Xhosa music and Afropop, Jazz, Hip Hop, Gospel and Soul with Modern African Soul.

Her songs, all of which she writes herself, are about the lives of ordinary people.  Her hit albums have received platinum status in South Africa and she has toured extensively throughout Western Europe. In a recent article in the “German Financial Times” Simphiwe is described as “a musical stroke of luck”.
